As a subsonsultant to Charter Environmental, Fort Hill conducted real property title research and prepared a title opinion for a Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) project in Watertown, MA. The project was undertaken by the US Army Corps of Engineers to remediate a site that was formerly associated with the Watertown Arsenal. One aspect of the project was for the ownership of the site to revert to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation, as part of the Charles River Reservation. To help effect this reversion, Fort Hill conducted extensive deed and title research and prepared a title opinion, certifying that good title would be transfered from the US Government to the Commonwealth.
